EC 2020 in Budapest

The Twenty-First ACM Conference on Economics and Computation (EC’20) will be held on July 13-17, 2020 in Budapest, Hungary.  The conference is co-located with the Sixth World Congress of the Game Theory Society.

The call for papers is now out.

EC’20 has four technical tracks. In contrast to previous editions of EC, the tracks differ by the types of contributions they emphasize; they are orthogonal to content areas. Papers submitted to each track will be evaluated primarily according to the criteria described below.

• Theory: Typical papers in this track make progress on existing theoretical problems, propose new ones, or introduce significant new techniques that could be applied more broadly.
• Applied Modeling: Typical papers in this track propose and analyze novel models that capture real-world phenomena or provide fresh perspectives on previously studied applied problems.
• AI and Computation: Typical papers in this track rely on computer-aided techniques to tackle complex problems that were previously beyond reach, or develop new such techniques
• Empirics: Typical papers in this track draw significant insights from real or synthetic data, through access to new data sources or experiments, or through novel analysis of existing data sources.

2020 Call for profiles of SIGecom job market candidates

Continuing the tradition from 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019, this year there will be an article in the upcoming edition of the SIGecom Exchanges, profiling junior job market candidates (both for postdoc and faculty positions) of the SIGecom community for 2019-2020. These profiles will include the candidates’ thesis title, research summary, brief biography, and citations to three representative papers, as well as links to each candidate’s homepage and CV.

To be considered, each candidate should complete the submission form by September 2, and then submit the final version of their LaTeX source files (a link to which is provided in the form) by September 5. The article will be co-edited by Vasilis Gkatzelis and myself. Please forward this call to whoever you think would be interested.
