I’ve started this blog almost two years ago. The algorithmic-game-theory aka computation-and-economics community did not have a blog serving it, and I thought that every scientific area could use a blog (or several blogs) that serve as some kind of “town newspaper” discussing about “current events” in the area. I still think that this is very true, and that this blog did contribute to the community along these lines. I also wanted a forum to spell out my thoughts about the area to the “world” beyond what we usually write in scientific papers. However, as happens to most bloggers, I see that recently I am putting less and less effort into writing substantive posts and that lately most of my posting is various announcements. Since I think that this blog is still serving a useful function to the community, I considered various ways to go forward, taking into account my personal reduced level of blogging. So here is what I came up with.
Starting January 1, 2012, this blog will become a group blog targeted at the algorithmic-game-theory aka computation-and-economics community, in a broad sense. The idea is to “cover” the different threads of work in such areas, as well as related areas. The actual contents will of course depend on the whims of the group of bloggers who will include:
I hope that between us, we will keep this blog lively. I expect non-trivial changes to the blog as the new bloggers enter their roles. Comments to this post are a good place for readers to provide feedback or requests to pass on to us.
I’d personally like to thank my readers for paying some attention to my blog. As when I started writing in the blog, I still think that attention is the currency of our times, I hope that as a group we will deserve even more of it.

This blog would be similar to the Computational Complexity blog? You have five bloggers, much more than Lance and Bill.
Although I don’t do research in these areas (algorithmic game theory/computational economics) I do a lot of expository writing and teaching that encourages the use of mathematics/cs to study fairness models and to get insight into games/economics. I have found this blog very informative and interesting. I welcome its new “format” and I look forward to a lot of interesting new ideas and results.
Thanks for taking the time to write over the past two years. I’ve enjoyed it a lot, and learnt a lot. I’m looking forward to the new group format!
At last… wonderful idea!
that does look like a good idea, especially the bloggers you have recruited to the group!
Noam, thanks for all wonder posts you have written. I wish you a happy new year and eagerly wait for new posts by you and agt group.
A technical detail: the favicon is still Noam’s portrait.
Wonderful idea, Noam. Thank you, Ehud
Hi Noam, thanks for all the great and hard work. It was a great source of information for me and a way to keep track of the fields from outside. Best — Amir
