Hat tip to Al Roth for pointing out an interesting clip of Dan Ariely talking about online dating.
The world of online dating is one of the most significant demonstrations of how much the Internet has changed our lives. Finding a spouse (or even just sex) is one of the most basic human activities and every culture has put much effort into structuring it just so. Yet, within a very short time, online dating has captured a huge share of this deeply socially rooted “market”. I would say that this is more due to the deficiencies of the current “offline” models than due to the strength of the current online systems. Maybe it is time for some new models of online dating?
Your site, an accidental find, is terrific. Behavioral economics and computers! Sweet.
It’s hard to come by knowledgeable people about this subject, but you seem like you know what you’re talking about! Thanks
This is a very good tip especially to those fresh to the blogosphere. Brief but very accurate information… Appreciate your sharing this one. A must read post!
May I simply say what a relief to find somebody that truly understands what they are discussing on the web. You actually know how to bring an issue to light and make it important. A lot more people should check this out and understand this side of your story. It’s surprising you’re not more popular given that you definitely possess the gift.
